Product Description

Polyethyleneimine (PEI) is divided into two types: linear and branched. Linear PEI contains all secondary amines, while branched PEI has primary, secondary and tertiary amine groups. Linear PEI of any molecular weight is a solid at room temperature, while branched PEI is a liquid. Linear PEI is soluble in hot water or low pH methanol, ethanol, or chloroform, but insoluble in cold water, benzene, and acetone; the polymer chain has a methyl group at one end and a hydroxyl group at the other; melting point of 73-75°C; and can be stored at room temperature.

Polyethyleneimine function

1, high adhesion, high adsorption Amine groups can react with hydroxyl groups to generate hydrogen bonds, amine groups can react with carboxyl groups to generate ionic bonds, amine groups can also react with carbonyl groups to generate covalent bonds. At the same time, it is able to combine with different substances due to the structure of polar group (amine group) and hydrophobic group (vinyl group). Using these comprehensive bonding power, it can be widely used in the fields of then, ink, coating, binder, etc.

2、Highly cationic Polyethyleneimine exists in the form of polycation in water, and can neutralize and adsorb all anionic substances. It can also chelate heavy metal ions. Using its highly cationic nature, it can be used in paper making, water treatment, electroplating solution, dispersant and other fields.

3、Highly reactive Polyethyleneimine can be easily used with epoxy, aldehyde, isocyanide, etc. because of its highly reactive primary and secondary amines.

Property: Colorless or yellow viscous liquid. Polyethyleneimine is a water-soluble polymer produced by the polymerization of ethyleneimine. It is not a fully linear polymer, but a partially branched polymer containing primary, secondary and tertiary amines. Polyethylenimine is as chemically reactive as other low molecular weight amines and can be chemically modified in a variety of ways. Properties: Cationic density of extant materials, very high activity, water solubility.

Uses: Biochemical research. With high adhesion and adsorption, the amine can react with carboxyl groups to produce hydrogen Kin; the amine can react with carboxyl groups to produce ionic Kin; the amine can react with carbonyl groups to produce covalent Kin. Polyethyleneimine is able to combine with different substances due to its polar group (amino) and hydrophobic group (vinyl) structure. Using these combined binding powers, it can be widely used in the fields of adhesives, inks, coatings, binders, etc. Highly cationic, polyethyleneimine exists as a polymeric cation in water, neutralizes and adsorbs all anionic substances, and also chelates heavy metal ions. With its high cationic property, it can be used in paper water treatment, electroplating solution, and dispersant field. Polyethyleneimine can easily react with epoxy, acid, isocyanate compounds and acid gases due to its highly reactive primary and secondary amines. This property can be used as an epoxy resin reactant, aldehyde adsorbent and dye fixative, acid ester compound and acid gas reactor. It can be used as epoxy resin modifier, aldehyde adsorbent and dye fixing agent by this property.
